Spelling Words Sept 28-October 2nd

Spelling Rule: The Y Rule:
a. If the letter before the Y is a vowel, the Y does not change when you add the suffix.
b. If the letter before the Y is a consonant, the Y changes to an I when you add the suffix...unless, the suffix starts with an I.

Tuesday:
Read pgs. 139-157; add 3 wow words to each paragraph
Wednesday:
Read pgs. 158-178; spelling word search,
Thursday:
Read pgs. 179-198 (we will finish the book by next Tuesday, October 6th); spelling rule wkst., 4 squares of drawing four scenes with descriptions of scenes on the back, spelling test Friday!
7th grade:
Monday:
Read pgs. 121-148 in The Watson's Go to Birmingham; spelling word search, two paragraphs comparing and contrasting The Big Cheese on Third Street with The Watsons Go to Birmingham
Tuesday:
Read pgs. 149-168; spelling rule worksheet, add 3 WOW words to each paragraph
Wednesday:
Read pgs. 169-190; 4 squares of drawings scenes from the book and descriptions of scenes on the back
Thursday:
Read pgs. 191-210 (this is the end of the book; we will have a test on the book at the beginning of next week); spelling 3x each; spelling test Friday!
8th grade:
Monday:
Read pgs 102-125 in the True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle and complete the journal (the directions are in the letter written to you by Charlotte herself); 3 paragraph compare and contrast on pirates
Tuesday:
Read pgs. 126-155 and journal; half of your vocabulary flashcards completed
Wednesday:
Read pgs. 156-178 and journal; four squares drawing the four scenes of your choice and describing them on the back
Thursday:
Read pgs. 179-205 and journal; vocabulary sentences with action verbs in every sentence (no linking verbs), vocabulary test Friday (on half of the words)!
